Black OystercatcherNeither of us got much sleep last night as the wind came up and shook us and our tent all night long! Hmmmm … maybe there are some negative aspects to rooftop tents, such as – you’re a lot higher off the ground, therefore it gets more windy up there!! We headed off early travelling down the coast through many little beach towns. The weather was dull and grey for most of the day, and we actually couldn’t see any ocean until well after noon .. even though we knew it was there just to the west of us all the time! We’re getting pretty good fuel economy (for our truck) – averaging around 20 miles/gallon, which we’re happy with! We arrived at Harris Beach State Park in southern Oregon well before dark, and took a long walk along the beach where we watched black oystercatchers feeding on the rocks, and numerous other birds on the beach. It’s great to be on sandy beaches again! Now all we need is some sun!
