Bahia Conception (Conception Bay), Baja California

Bahia Conception. Well here we are on the east coast of the Baja, looking at the Sea of Cortez for the first time. We 4-wheeled onto a small peninsula that is only accessible when the tide is low (yes, the frame of the truck is getting a little red now from the salt…) but it was worth it. What a gorgeous spot, on white sand, amongst the mangroves. And, the water was warm.

To a Canadian who has never been anywhere really warm, it is hard to conceive of warm ocean water. But believe me, this water was actually flowing, tidal, ocean water, not stagnant, and warm – just a few degrees below body temperature. Mom, you’ve got to see this!
