Bolivia
Well, we have successfully navigated our way to Bolivia!
Deja vu …
I just discovered that only half of my last post got published the other day (gotta love the internet connections here). So … here is the complete post … video included! Enjoy!
Desert Camping, Northern Peru
We discovered a dirt road that headed eastwards from the coast into the desert, so we followed our noses and were soon surrounded by gorgeous desert scenery. The road very quickly deteriorated into a dry river bed that got progressively narrower and narrower as we continued along the way.
Duke Energy and Lago Paròn
The hydroelectric project near Caraz was an interesting situation that we tried to explore in some detail, but with only mixed success.

New Cruiser Turns 500,000!

Photos of Peru
Stopped by the Police, again.
Two days ago, about 1 hour outside of Lima, Peru. Robin and Raenelle deal with another typical Latin American policeman. This happened in Spanish, and took much longer to get the points across than it seems. In any case, read on:
Welcome to Peru
A mid-morning border crossing from Ecuador to Peru proved to be very stress-free and relatively quick. We spent about 45 minutes standing around waiting for the boss to arrive to sign our Peru vehicle importation permit.
Zorritos, Northern Peru
We spent about 5 days camping on the north coast of Peru on a gorgeous sandy beach. This is the last location where we will find relatively warm ocean on this trip. Further south there is a different ocean current that prevails, yielding much colder water temperatures.
